Production of a Manual for Disability Inclusive and Gender Sensitive Institutions
As part of the “Empowerment and Inclusion for Persons with Disabilities” project, implemented by
AUED as an umbrella association and funded by GIZ – Equal Opportunities and Social Development
(EOSD), we assess the current status of partner associations, youth centers, and educational
libraries in relation to disability inclusion and gender equality across Assiut, Sohag, and Qena
governorates in Egypt. Building on the field findings and drawing on the existing related manuals, the
team produces a comprehensive manual that establishes measurable indicators for each of the
three types of entities. These indicators will enable periodic assessment of progress towards
disability and gender inclusion, while ensuring the use of participatory approaches with
beneficiaries.
