PWD Friends Groups

The Om Habibeh Foundation logo includes modern text and green-yellow circular elements.

In collaboration with Aswan University, Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) is working to establish Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Friends groups to promote inclusion, encourage interaction, and combat stigma on campus. As part of the project, we delivered Disability Equality Training (DET) to students and university staff, which serves as a foundational step in equipping group members with the knowledge and perspective needed. The training was also designed to actively engage participants in co-developing a detailed action plan for the group. This plan outlines the group’s structure, key roles and responsibilities, activities, resources, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) indicators. By involving the trainees in this process, the project aims to build a strong sense of ownership and ensure the sustainability and self-management of the groups.
